Thousands Left Without Electricity in South-East Queensland and Victoria Following Powerful Weather Systems
Nearly twenty-five thousand homes in Queensland's southeast were left lacking electricity on Monday morning after intense storm systems impacted the state, producing wind gusts reaching over 100 km/h.
Massive Hailstones and Widespread Damage
Homeowners observed giant hailstones as large as seven centimeters in some areas. Meteorological experts announced that multiple regions across Queensland had been impacted by significant hail.

Response teams were working to restore power throughout the impacted areas, with approximately seventy teams activated to manage the widespread outages.
Southern State's Climate Difficulties
At the same time, around 1,000 energy customers in the southern state also experienced power outages after the capital city saw its most precipitation in over 500 days.
Rescue organizations received 598 calls for help across the region, mainly for structural issues but also for collapsed vegetation and inundation.

During the peak on Sunday, in excess of twenty-eight thousand electricity consumers in Victoria were experiencing outages.
Weather Forecast
Damp conditions were predicted to continue along much of Queensland's east this next several days as a atmospheric system continued to draw in moisture against the shoreline.
The following day was predicted as the wettest day, with ongoing severe weather risk predicted across various areas of both states.
Health Warning
Medical authorities alerted that there was an increased chance of thunderstorm-induced asthma across the countryside regions, particularly given the ongoing climate situation.
This warning comes after previous incidents where similar conditions led to significant health impacts in the region.
