The Prince of Wales will represent the United Nations climate conference in Brazil next month, according to the royal household.

The father and son duo made a joint appearance on Thursday night at a event preceding the climate summit, which is set to be held in the northern Brazilian city of Belem.

Father and son were present at the scientific institution event, marking an rare public appearance together at a environmental conference preliminary meeting co-hosted by the British authorities.

Environmental Advocacy Commitment

King Charles has been a longstanding advocate of environmental conservation - and Prince William has assumed the responsibility, with his own climate innovation awards, which will be held in Brazil ahead of the climate conference.

Palace insiders have characterized the Prince's participation at the next COP as stepping up an crucial position in "climate diplomacy".

Recent Engagements

The monarch and his heir, making a joint entrance in the state Bentley, were introduced to participants featuring environmentalists, researchers, climate change campaigners, diplomats and politicians.

This engagement involved presentations together with French leader Macron of the French Republic and other international figures at the Blue Economy and Finance Forum in Monaco earlier this year.
