19 of the Russian's twenty-one victories have been earned on hard courts
A comeback the Russian player claimed his first championship for over two years with a win over Corentin Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.
The Russian, a ex- top-ranked player, has experienced a torrid year, achieving just one match at the big events and suffering a meltdown at the American major.
The player's varied form on the tennis tour - and issues with his serving in specific - caused him dropping out of the top ten and eventually separating with long-time trainer his previous coach.
Currently collaborating with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, Medvedev has consistently advanced in the recent weeks - climaxing in a hard-fought competitive win over opponent Moutet.
It is Medvedev's initial championship following the Rome competition and first on a hardcourt after spring of that year.
Success also indicates the Russian has achieved 21 victories at twenty-one different events.
"For the first time I am participating in a competition with my children at once, so to win a trophy is especially meaningful," stated world number 14 Medvedev.
"This championship is in tribute of my second daughter her name, because the first title I got when my older daughter her name was born was for her."
The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his past six finals, featuring in the German tournament previously this season.
Medvedev's retrieving play style and regular outbursts on the playing surface had led commentators to question if his capacity to perform at the highest level was over.
However the 29-year-old has made changes in the past month, making an effort to advance forward and compete positively, backed up by an enhanced serving game.
He fought back from a deficit in the initial set against the tricky Frenchman, securing four of the concluding five points to gain the advantage.
Both players traded break points in the middle set before the challenger, attempting for his first tour championship, gained dominance to force a decider.
He defended 4 initial break points in a tight final set before Medvedev secured a break to that score to secure the win.
Appropriately, Medvedev secured the title with a rally at the net area, with Moutet failing to control a shot after a lengthy match.
